Dave worked in Civil Engineering both in the Netherlands and in the UK before joining Fife Council as a Transportation Planner in 1981.

Throughout his career with Fife, Dave specialised in the promotion of sustainable transport and in 1999, developed the local authority’s Travel Plan – the first to be published in Scotland.

Dave established and chaired the Scottish Section of the National TravelWise Association and has been actively involved with various working groups on sustainable transport issues at a National level.

In 2007, Dave left Fife Council to become a freelance Travel Plan Consultant and now provides Travel Plan advice to a variety of organisations in Scotland.

Dave is also Liftshare’s Scottish Representative.
